Watersplash 10km (with 5km option) - 4th April

The annual Watersplash 10km (time trial) will be run on Wednesday 4th April 2012.

Graded starts will be from 6.10 pm onwards with the elite group starting at 6.37 pm. The aim is for all to finish at about 7.15 p.m. allowing everyone to get back to the club before sunset which is predicted to be at 7.40 p.m. (BST)

The 10km course will be over two laps of the figure-of-8 circuit. See map. For those wanting a shorter run or run/walk there will be also be a 5km race over one lap with a mass start at 6.32 p.m.

The start/finish line is in the Field of Hope (pedestrian area at M4/junction 3), about 600m from the Concorde Club pavilion.

Register at the Concorde Club by 6 p.m. at the latest, or else (after that time), at the start.

Competitions

When collecting your bib number on the evening please declare your age (in completed years) and your weight (kgs). There will be a special prize on the night for the best combined score

i) for best weight (in kgs) minus 10km time (in minutes) eg 80kgs, 50 mins scores 30 points

ii) for best age (in years) minus 10km time (in minutes) eg 60 years, 50 mins scores 10 points

e.g. a 80kg, 60 year old completing 10km in 50 minutes will score 30 weight points and 10 age points, total 40 points. (applies to men only)

Schedule

The slowest group (over an hour) start at 6.10 p.m.

55-59 minute runners start at 6.15 p.m.

50-54 minutes.................start 6.20 p.m.

45-49 minutes..........................6.25 p.m.

40-44 minutes .........................6.30 p.m.

the 5km race will start at 6.32 p.m.

The elite 10km group will start at 6.37 p.m.

Cut-Off Time

To allow timekeepers and marshals to return to the club in plenty of time for the social with food at the Concorde Club please note the following cut-off time:

Runners in the 10km event who do not reach the 7.9km point (2 x 1st loop, 1 x 2nd loop) by 7.08 p.m. will be asked to stop by the timekeepers. Times for 7.9km will be recorded and passed to the club archivist to be added to a select group in the history books.
