BUPA 10,000; SUNDAY 27th MAY 2012; HELP REQUIRED

Sunday 27th May sees the fifth running of the BUPA 10000. The London Marathon have again approached BAAC for 32 volunteers to assist initially around the Start and Finish area on the Mall (note: for those that have helped in previous years the Start has moved from Birdcage Walk to the Mall and hopefully they'll be a better flow for finishers to get back into Green Park).

In previous years the race has been on the late May bank holiday but due to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations the race has moved to a Sunday.

Compared to helping at the London Marathon, this is a doddle but helps to maintain the Club's track record for consistency and reliability. The race starts at 10am and we'll be running a coach from the Concorde Club, meeting at 07:15 for 07:30 departure. I would envisage that we'd be finished by approx. 12:30, so should be back at the Club by 1pm. Each helper will get kit (previous years it's been a T-shirt and jacket) and a packed lunch and the Club will get a donation (circa. £400), which helps to keep subs down.
