 QMR 10k & 5k 15th May + Olympic Torch Opportunity / Stockley Park 10k 20th May

All,

Firstly a reminder from me about the Queen Mother Reservoir 10k (also 5k) on Tuesday 15th May.  That is the event I’m trying to get a large number of BA colleagues to so a good club presence will enhance the prospects of enticing some of them to join the club. The address to enter is http://www.purplepatchrunning.com/races/queen-mother-reservoir-5k10k-race-series
If you can’t run then you might show your encouragement to those who are by sponsoring the team by donating money to Flying Start. As an added incentive to donate one of my team colleagues, Mohammed Din, says “I have the great honour of carrying the Olympic flame, through the streets of Slough on 10th July. Please come and cheer me on! In preparation for my 300m (!) stint, I’m taking part in the Queen Mother Reservoir 10k run on 15th May. Please sponsor me at the link below. All money raised goes to Flying Start. As a little incentive, I’ll draw a name from all who sponsor us, to have a photo taken holding the Olympic torch!

Secondly I’m also the club champion for the Stockley Park 10k on Sunday 20th May HOWEVER if you are capable of running more than 10k that weekend please offer yourself to Brian Bennett and Chris Kelly for the Green Belt Relay instead because we only just have a team.  If you are only capable of running one 10k then I do recommend the Stockley Park run – it is friendly and well organised and around the golf course at Stockley Park.  It is also a purple patch event – enter at: http://www.purplepatchrunning.com/races/stockley-park-10k/

Please remember to check out your club website www.baRUNNER.org.uk .  As well as holding a record of all club events and communications there is additional content such as photographs. Additional submissions are always welcome.

thanks,
