Rosenheim Results from BA Hosted event at Eton on 3rd July

A great evening at Windsor, with massive help from a keen squad of BAAC race starters, hammer collectors, timekeepers, judges, sand sweepers, results compilers, measurers plus the blokes (and girl!) who ran and threw. Windsor and Eton is normally regarded as a remote western outpost to most of the other Rosenheim League teams, but this year they came in their dozens to compete in scoring and non-scoring events.

The results mean that BA is now proudly on the board in the ladies event, with two huge wins on the night courtesy of Janet Smith.

Our men, each of whom also judged or helped when their weren't competing, did enough to keep us in contention for the Rosenheim grand final. We now need lots of athletes to turn up at Woking on July 17th, and we will take the qualifying place from Epsom.

BA Fun Run approaching fast - Thursday 25th July

So far I've recorded offers to help from Chris Kelly+Baljit Dhanda, Simon Turton, Bill Byrne (from 17:00), Clara Halket, Piers K (flight permitting) and Paul Brandon.  I've had a couple of apologies from Eddie Giles and Brian Forrester.

We need many more helpers for this BA managed charity event - please let me know if you are available or, if you are a regular and want to save me the effort of chasing you, please send me your apologies.

Summary - I need some people on site at or before 16:00 and then most others by 17:00 since the main 5k fun run starts at 17:30.  Non-Waterside residents need to tell me their car registration numbers and I am getting meal vouchers for all helpers (which will probably also includes an adult drink).  The BA Fun Run has a theme this year of Carnival.

Rumours...

There is a rumour that a BA Athletics Club member was doing Sunday's Rio De Janeiro Marathon.  If anyone else know if this is true or finds out the result then please pass it on.

There is also a rumour (which I know to be true because I'm one of them) that at least two club members will be running in the Olympic Stadium on Sunday 21st July.  Let me know if you are also doing this.

And Steve Newell says that the parkrun Race Director at Gunnersbury understands that the plans to start a parkrun at Osterley are progressing well.

Due to an ankle injury and lack of training I am unable to take part in the Purple Patch Running Down Tow Half Marathon from Marlow - Windsor on the 28th July. I was really looking forward to it as it should be downhill all the way. I have been told that the entry can be transferred to anyone providing the following details by the 19th July:

Please let me know if you are interested or pass on to anyone who you think may be interested.
